Running 4+ point harness w/o overhead protection is dangerous. If the car rolls and the top crushes, your body has no way to get your head lower (higher in this case). With a 3 point you can at least (be forced to) get lower in the cabin. Then there are the seat belt angles... the shoulder harnesses need to be within like minimal degrees off horizontal to keep you from collapsing in a head on. These are the two biggest I can think of.
